Limpopo Heath MEC, Dr Phophi Ramathuba is saddened by a death of a 19-year-old pregnant woman during an accident involving a minibus taxi and an ambulance in Giyani on the R81 Siyandhani crossroad, today on the 06 January 2021.
It is confirmed that a 19-year-old pregnant woman was being transported to hospital to deliver when a minibus taxi collided with an ambulance, killing her and other three occupants died in an accident. It is also reported that two EMS members also sustained injuries and have been taken to hospital. This after minibus taxi failed to stop at traffic lights and collided with an ambulance.
MEC Ramathuba says she is angry because there are allegations of reckless driving that has caused them these lives and an asset which they need during these difficult times of Covid19.
She has sent the condolences to the bereaved families.
