The Limpopo Provincial Traffic Control Room has been temporarily closed from 17 January 2021 due to positive Covid-19 cases.

According the Department of Transport and Community Safety Spokesperson, Matome Moremi Taueatsoala, “the Traffic Control Room, is a 24-hour center where accidents and incidents are reported, the information is then collated and reported to relevant offices including the communications services in case there is a road closure that needs to be communicated. Due to the temporary closure, services will be operating remotely”.

The department says, the site will be undergoing decontamination and deep cleaning and will be operational again on Thursday 21 January 2021.

The department advices the community to contact PPI Mokwele on 0663021616 for all emergencies and complaints that needs to be attended by the Provincial Traffic Control. Telephone lines will not be accessible for the duration of the closure.
