Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya is once again pleading with motorists to reduce speed and drive with caution. This comes after a male pedestrian believed to be in his late 30’s was killed in a hit and run accident while crossing the R71 near Joe Banana.

Furthermore, two people were also killed while two others escaped with serious injuries in a multiple vehicle crash on the R510 near Thabazimbi in the Waterberg District.

Reckless driving contributed to the main reason of the horrific accident. Apparently the Daewoo was overtaking and collided head-on with a Volvo Truck then the Ford Ranger hit the truck at rear end. The driver of the truck and a passenger from the Daewoo were certified dead on the scene while the driver of the Ford loading Van suffered serious injuries and the Daewoo driver escaped with minor injuries.
