Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba will give an opening address on 15 July 2021, during the training of final year nursing students as COVID19 vaccinators at the University of Limpopo, Polokwane Municipality under Capricorn District.

This is part of government’s plan to expand the pool of their qualified vaccinators who will join their current vaccinators in order to fast track their vaccine program.

MEC Dr Ramathuba says they have identified students to assist in the vaccination program as they are almost done with their studies to be Professional Nurses. As they move to gate two where she will officially launch the registration of the category of 35 to 49 years as they will need more manpower to be equal to the task when it comes to vaccination and they will be opening more sites to all their clinics to become vaccination sites.

The students will come in handy to ease the burden of their health care professionals who are currently busy responding to those who are sick and warrant admissions.

The MEC furthermore continues to encourage all eligible age groups to enroll for vaccines using the Electronic Vaccination Delivery System (EVDS), whatsapp, or SMS so that they can be vaccinated.
