The Molopo Regional Court sentenced Kabelo Motlangoane (30) to two-life imprisonment on two counts of rape , two years for housebreaking and a further twelve months for theft in North West.

These incidents were reported to the police and let to his arrest on the 26 June 2015 , therefore the court denied him bail and he stayed in police custody until sentencing.

Advocate Nangamso says people cannot live in a society where women become victims of gender based violence , he also continued by saying Motlangoane deserved nothing less than life imprisonment.

Furthermore, the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions in North West, Dr Rachel Makhari says she believes this will send a strong message to those who may want to commit similar offence .
