The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation would like to warn the public about job scammers following the arrest of a suspected job scammer aged 35 in Polokwane earlier today.
It is alleged that the victim applied for a general work vacancy posted on Facebook and was later invited for the interviews in one of the hotels in Polokwane.
The victim was also requested to bring an amount of R250 for police clearance and also pay for the uniform.
Furthermore, the Hawks Commercial Crime Investigation members discovered that the suspect was conducting more job interviews with a company that does not exist and she also provided fraud documentations to the hotel for the venue where the interviews where conducted.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate Court on Friday, 30 July 2021, therefore Limpopo residents are urged to be cautioned when searching for jobs.
