The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) is set to picket this Friday, 30 July 2021 at Wolmarans street in Johannesburg as the Union condemns the management of Autopax for their failure to pay worker’s salaries for the month of July.

It is alleged that Autopax workers had their salaries delayed and members who are bus drivers confirm that money is being collected from passengers every day and the busses are full, yet Autopax is still unable to pay salaries due to a mismanaged entity.

Furthermore, employees were disturbed with the GCEO of PRASA Xolani Mathews attitude when he says he does not know when workers will be paid salaries and he claims to be waiting for the Department of Transport’s Minister, Fikile Mbalula’s intervention.

NUMSA urges Department of Transport Minister to explain why government as shareholders has failed to intervene and also ensure that Autopax is stabilized by ensuring that the right kind of management has been appointed.
