GAUTENG HEALTH OPENS CASE AFTER ITEMS STOLEN

1 min read

Several appliances were stolen from the fire-ravaged Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) and the Gauteng Department of Health has now opened a theft case at Hillbrow police station.

Stolen items include 10 desktop computers, 1 fridge, 6 plasma television sets and 3 laptops which disappeared since the fire incident in April 2021. Immediately after the fire no one was allowed inside the building. As a result, security was deployed in the staff residence area and to also monitor the parameter fence of the hospital including gate 1 and gate 2.

MEC for Health, Dr Nomthemba Mokgethi has argued the police to leave no stone unturned in their efforts to apprehend the culprits.

She also urged the public to come forward with any information they may have which might help the cops with their investigation.
