Limpopo MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Hon. Namane Dickson Masemola delivered an Opening Address on behalf of The Premier of Limpopo, Ambassador Chupu Mathabatha on the Occasion of the Musina-Makhado Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Symposium.
The MEC says the Limpopo that they want is a socio-economic development aspiration, captured in the Limpopo Development Plan (LDP).
“For us as government, the Musina-Makhado SEZ is a historic opportunity for growth and development. It is an opportunity to contribute towards the eradication of the inherited yet stubborn challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality” Hon. Masemola said while addressing.
Hon.Masemola furthermore says that opportunities are actually limitless in this Special Economic Zone. He says Opportunities range from manufacturing, agro-processing, automotives, steel, pharmaceutical and logistics.
The reality that the Musina-Makhado Special Economic Zone is expected to have a visible and solid footprint in the rest of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries.
The MEC stated that the next trigger for economic boom will happen in the area of Musina-Makhado also be supported by the
rich mineral deposits which are found in the area and across the rest of Limpopo Province.
