Family members and business associates were charged with fraud and theft of approximately R 2,5 million on Tuesday.

It was reported that Cecilia Smith aged 49, Stephanaus Claasen aged 58, Emile Claassen aged 34, and Jaques Fritz aged 31 were served with summons to appear in the Palm Ridge Specialised commercial crime’s court on Wednesday facing charges of fraudulent and theft.

Back in 2014, the accused allegedly created fraudulent credit facility with the Tellerscrew company’s details of R 500 000 for Siyakhula engineering which they were all directors.The matter was referred to the Hawk’s serious commercial crime investigation in Germiston for further investigation.

In other news, investigations revealed that tellerscrew loss approximately R 2,5 Million due to the alleged fraudulent activities.The case was postponed to the 4th of October 2021 for docket disclosure.
