The North West Division has decided to reserve the case of fraud against Andrey Lekalakala, the former HOD, and Wendy Nelson, the former MEC of Finance, Economy & Enterprise to the 9th & 10 of November 2021 at the North West High Court in Mmabatho.

It is alleged that during the interview process for superintendent- general at the department of health, Nelson knew that Lekalakala misinterpreted the job application form (Z83) however, she persuaded him for the senior position.

The North West National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Henry Mamothane explains how  Nelson failed to reveal the misinterpretation to the Premier of the province, Supra Mahumapelo, and their fraud amounted 8 million, which Lekalala is alleged to have received a part of the remuneration during his time of reign.

Mamothane concludes that the NPA is happy that the matter is finally getting concluded, as they await judgment. They believe they had a strong case but they know that the final decision lies with the presiding officer.
