Mpumalanga Police in Nelspruit urges communities to seek professional help whenever they are faced with life challenges.
This comes after after the gruesome death of a father and son, suspected to be domestic related violence whereby, a young man, aged 21 was reportedly shot and killed allegedly by his 48 year old father in Standerton on Saturday, 02 October 2021 at about 10H00am but shockingly, the father’s body, which had gunshot wound was also discovered as well as a firearm next to him.
According to information SAPS together with the medical personnel were alerted about the incident and upon their arrival the young man as well as the father were unfortunately certified dead at the scene. Preliminary investigation suggests that after fatally shooting the son, the father reportedly turned the gun on himself.
Furthermore, the Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has condemned the incident and considered it as regrettable and also made a declaration call to members of the public to seek professional assistance whenever they go through life challenges.
