RURAL HEALTH MATTERS CAMPAIGN TO BE TAKEN TO VHEMBE DISTRICT

Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba will lead a team of medical specialists, to render services at the hospitals in the Vhembe District from the 19th to 24th October 2021 as part of the department’s rural health matters outreach program with the aim of benefiting less privileged communities.

The team includes the Reproductive Medicine specialists , Urogynaecological, Ophthalmologists, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, Paediatric Surgeons, ENT Surgeons, Radiologists, Orthopedics Surgeons , Urologists, Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Maxillo Facial Surgeons, periodontists, Anaesthesiologists, Cardiologist, General Surgeons, Physicians and Nephrologists.

Furthermore, the team of specialists will be stationed at Tshilidzini Hospital, Elim Hospital, Siloam Hospital, Donald Fraser Hospital and Malamulele Hospital and are expected to spend the whole week clearing surgical and medical backlogs as well as transferring skills.

Meanwhile Health MEC Phophi Ramathuba says, Covid-19 has impacted negatively in all the healthcare services and now that theĀ  numbers are very low, they start dealing with backlogs focusing on rural areas because Rural health matters.
