1 min read

The Limpopo Department of Social Development has dispatched a team of social workers to the Moti family in Polokwane, whose four children were abducted yesterday. Police says four children aged between six and fifteen from Nirvana were abducted by a group of armed men while they were on route to school.

Social Development MEC Nkakareng Rakgoale says the violent way in which the children were taken is disturbing and their safety is of a serious concern.

A team of social workers will this morning visit the family to start with the provision of psychosocial support. Another team of social workers will also extend their psychosocial support services to the school the children are attending.

MEC Rakgoale says they urge anyone with information about the whereabouts of these children to contact the police. Their social workers will be with the family, while they are still praying and hoping for the safe return of the children.

Meanwhile MEC Nkakareng Rakgoale and her counterpart from the Department of Transport and Community Safety Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya are expected to visit the family later today.
