NIGERIAN MAN SENTENCED FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND MULTIPLE RAPES

The Johannesburg Magistrates court sentenced Peter Akadoronge aged 37 to five life imprisonment terms plus five years yesterday, 10 November 2021.

Akadoronge was convicted on three counts of Trafficking in persons, two counts of raped of adults that happened more than once and one count of assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm following incident that happened in Thohoyandou on 26 November 2017.

State Advocate Colleen Ryan argued that Akadoronge came as a visitor in South Africa and chose to disregard the laws of the country.She further argued that he left his victims with both emotional and physical scars.

The National Prosecuting Authority has praised eight witnesses, including two medical doctors, the probation officer and the court preparation officer for the job well done.
