Limpopo Health Department today, 17 November 2021 commemorate the World Prematurity Day under the theme:” Zero Separation Act now, keep parents and babies born too soon together”.

World Prematurity Day is a key movement to focus global attention on the burden of preterm birth causes on parents and families, leading to long term morbidity and infant mortality.

Health Department MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba says today is the occasion to raise awareness on neonatology, and encourage to improve the treatment and care of all the premature babies. They want to give preemies equal survival chances without avoidable long-term complications.

She furthermore says their facilities across the province will be observing this day with the main events hosted by Letaba, Mankweng and Philadelphia Hospitals.
