LIMPOPO HEALTH MEC URGES COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO REMAIN VIGILANT OF COVID-19

Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba urges community members to remain vigilant and continue to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols during Black Friday shopping spree. This day will see multitudes of people converging to retail shopping stores and supermarkets across the country to do shopping.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, has yesterday, 25 November 2021 confirmed that new Covid-19 variant B.1.1.529 has been detected in South Africa and that numerous positive cases of this variant have since been recorded.

The Department has partnered with certain malls across the province to set up pop up vaccination sites, and equally their private partners Dischem, Clicks will have their vaccination site ready to assist people who will need to receive their jabs.

MEC Ramathuba furthermore says with the new Covid-19 new variant having been detected, they continue to urge people to religiously observe all the COVID-19 protocols at all times and in particular during this busy day filled with shopping festivities. For those who are yet to receive the vaccines, they must visit all the vaccination sites to be vaccinated.
