ActionSA leader urged all opposing parties to not entertain the VAT increase to be part of GNU

According to Bhig-mount: ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba has declared that his party will not support or participate in any form of Government of National Unity (GNU) unless there is a clear commitment to reverse the recently announced tax increases.

ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba reformed that his political party won’t cross their motto witch state that justice, fiscal responsibility, and putting South Africans first.

According to Mashaba tax increases will not just harm the citizens only but it will also affect the small business that are currently struggling.

He said “We cannot, in good conscience, support a government that chooses to dig deeper into the pockets of hardworking South Africans while doing little to curb wasteful expenditure and corruption.

“If joining a Government of National Unity means compromising on this fundamental issue, then ActionSA will stay out of it.”

According to publication: Mashaba also criticized what he called a lack of political will to explore alternative revenue-generating strategies that do not involve increasing the tax burden.

He argued that improving tax collection efficiency, curbing corruption, and cutting down on unnecessary government spending could yield the desired fiscal results without resorting to tax hikes.

Source stated that: The government has defended the tax increases, stating that they are necessary to meet budgetary demands and address infrastructure deficits.

According to Bhig-mount: Political analysts suggest that Mashaba’s firm position could appeal to middle-class voters and entrepreneurs who feel alienated by current fiscal policies.
