AS Monaco guard Elie Okobo, sustained injury on his foot during the French Cup game against ASVEL.
Okobo was part of the players started the game and unfortunately he didn’t last long as he managed to stay on the field for period of 2 minutes.
According to the report issued by BeBasket; Today, Okobo will undergo an MRI on his foot to determine the severity of the injury.
Monaco will face EA7 Emporio Armani Milan tomorrow in the Round 27 of the EuroLeague. Okobo’s status for the game is still unclear.
Okobo represented French national team in last EuroBasket qualifying window. He played a game with a national team on Monday, where he hit a game-winner against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then less than 24 hours later he appeared in the French Cup quarterfinal game for Monaco.
After the game on Monday, Okobo criticized whoever made this schedule, saying it’s unprofessional, and stuff like this can’t happen if they want to protect the players.
On his statement Okobo criticized how the organization is preparing their games and labelled it as ‘unfair’.
He said “I don’t know who organized this, but this is not professional, We must protect the players, if we want to see them on the court.”
