Banyana Banyana striker received some praises from Chairman of the club

South Africa keeps on producing top notch talent of players from both genders, as we have players like Lyle Foster from male side on the other hand we have players such as Noko Matlou and Thembi Kgatlana.

Banyana Banyana striker Kgatlana is recognized as top/ huge investment by clubs chairman Carlos Valenzuela.

Valenzuela shared his regard during the Women’s Football Summit in Spain, where he revealed that they are happy to have her services.

He said “We’re super proud and super happy having a player like Thembi Kgatlana, more than what she is as a player on the field, we love her off the field too.

“She’s someone we know who really inspires a culture, she really inspires a beautiful country like South Africa, and she has her own book that she launched a couple of months ago.

“And on the field she’s just a great player, she’s an international star for us and she crushes all of the centre-backs in every game.”

Kgatlana who was signed back in December 2023 from Racing Louisville FC on a transfer fee of $275,000, now have some company[Players from her country on the same league].

Other Banyana Banyana players who are currently playing their trade in Mexico are Jermaine Seoposenwe (Monterrey), Amogelang Motau and Hildah Magaia (both Club Tijuana).

Towards his conclusion Valenzuela emphasized that the reason why African players doing well in Mexico is because of the similar style of play.

He said “Africa is a strategic market [for Liga MX] because there are players that can actually adapt to our league and their way of play adapts to the way of playing in the Mexican league.”
