CDM HOSTS Two-DAY STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION AT BOLIVIA LODGE Today

The Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) commenced a two-day Strategic Planning Session at Bolivia Lodge.

This important gathering brings together leadership and officials not only from CDM but also from the four local municipalities within the district, Blouberg, Polokwane, Molemole, and Lepelle-Nkumpi.

The session will, focus on organizational strategic planning, and is officially opened by the Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo.

In her opening remarks, the Executive Mayor emphasized the critical timing of the session, stating:“Our communities are calling out louder than ever for responsive, accountable, and effective service delivery.

Teffo said “As we approach the 2026 local government elections, our response must go beyond rhetoric, it must take the form of practical, measurable, and people-centered interventions.”

She reminded attendees of the broader purpose of their mandate, highlighting that local government’s role is not just administrative but transformational.

Teffo said “We are here not just to manage systems, but to improve lives.”

Cllr Teffo urged all participants to focus on identifying the root causes of service delivery challenges and to develop bold, sustainable solutions that reflect the unique realities of each municipality.

She also pointed out the need to unblock obstacles delaying key catalytic projects across the municipalities.

Teffo said “In each of our municipalities, there is at least one major project that remains incomplete.

“We must address the bottlenecks and ensure that these projects are delivered.”

On her conclusion, mayor affirmed that the session will host different stakeholders that are going to contribute immensely.

Teffo said ”The session will feature presentations from representatives of various sector departments and parastatals, who are expected to provide insights and contribute to the strategic direction being crafted during these deliberations.”
