The Blues Coach Enzo Maresca is that type of coach who doesn’t shy away to joke around if one of his player didn’t performed well.
Christopher Nkunku was the player who was on the un-favoured fortune as he was criticised by the manager.
Christopher Nkunku was signed by The Pensioners back in summer 2023 and soo far this season he(Nkunku) established himself as one of the key player at Chelsea.
In the Premier League alone this campaign he managed to register/ accumulate total number of 163 minutes in 11 matches.
During the match post conference for Europa Conference League, Enzo Maresca shared his thoughts regarding game time for Christopher Nkunku.
Maresca said “Nkunku would like to play more? And I would like to have long hair. It’s like that…
“Joao Felix played a Premier League match the other day against Leicester. And of course Christopher Nkunku will also play Premier League matches.
“But we have a lot of players and we try to share the minutes between them. We want to make them all happy, even if sometimes that’s not possible.
“I spoke with Christopher a few days ago, he didn’t tell me that he was unhappy.”
Maresca refused to address the media if he wants to let go of Nkunku in this winter transfer market.
He said “Of course he would like to play more, but like many players. We have so many matches…”
As far as he(Maresca) is blessed with a pool of talent within his squad more especially in attacking departments.
Maresca is stressed out about the players who fail to assist in terms of defense phase of the game.
He said “It’s the same question with him as with the others: if you play with Cole (Palmer), Joao (Felix), Christo (Nkunku), Noni (Madueke), Jadon (Sancho)… who defends?
Nkunku will be hoping to get another shot when his side will be up against Heidenheim F.C later on tonight for Europa Conference League, kickoff set 19:45.
