Former Arsenal winger believes his former side can be crowned champs of UEFA Champions League if they change their mindset

Arsenal under Mikel Arteta is playing attractive football but they just lack consistency from their playing personal.

North London side have been chasing pack with Man City then now Liverpool in English Premier League.

Arsenal managed to finish inside top8 of the new format Champions League and that brought some hope into some former players.

One of the players who still have hope despite poor results at League games is Theo Walcott who want Arteta’s side to change one or two things.

Walcott has urged his former side to change their mindset if they want to become the champion of this year’s edition.

He said “There are areas that Arsenal need to improve on if they want to win the Champions League. They need to improve their winning mentality, there were signs of that last year. I feel if they’re going to progress, I want to see players expressing themselves, playing with enjoyment and freedom.”

Towards his conclusion Walcott also encourage harichary to just go into the market and secure the service of striker.

He said “They’re also lacking that star striker. Kai Havertz gets the best out of everyone on the team, but if they want to win the Champions League, they need to get those numbers a lot higher. If they can improve those two areas, Arsenal aren’t far away from winning the Champions League.”

London side have tried to secure the service of Ollie Watkins but their bid was unsuccessful and according to other sources they have improved their offer for Watkins.

Meanwhile AFTV revealed that, Club have identified Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui as a transfer target in the winter window. Should they fail to sign Ollie Watkins, they could table an offer to rope in the Italy international.

Retegui, 25, has emerged as a crucial starter for Atalanta since arriving from Genoa in a deal worth up to around £23 million last summer. The right-footed attacker has found the back of the opposition net 19 times and laid out four assists in 30 overall club appearances this season.

Arsenal have only one striker who is scoring goals for the club by the name of Kai Havertz who scored 14 goals out of 32 matches.

Arteta together with his troops will be hoping to get maximum points when they will be taking on Manchester City on Sunday 2nd February for EPL fixture and kickoff set at 18:30
