Former Barcelona striker urged fans to be more supportive towards the club

Former Barcelona FC captain Leonil Messi during his interview with Mundo Deportivo shared how pleased he is to don Barca t-shirt.

Leo went on to emphasize that he will always have a special place for the club together with it’s spectators.

Messi, in his review of the club’s history where Barca celebrate 125th anniversary of the club, Argentina striker wished the club all the best.

He said “There were moments that I didn’t live through, but I know that they were. The foundation of the club and the construction of Camp Nou.

“Then, the Cruyff era as a player, the first European Cup at Wembley with him as coach in ‘92.

“And what I did experience, certainly Pep’s time as coach, what Ronaldinho meant in the 2005-06 Champions League, and then the treble with Luis Enrique.

“Of players? It’s a club that has always stood out for having the best. From Johan Cruyff, through Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi, the two Luis Suárez, Stoichkov, Pep, Ronaldinho, Rijkaard, Maradona.”

Argentinan hero went to share his thoughts regarding the legendaries of the club such as Cesar, Kubala to name few.

Messi said Although he was not around long, he made a huge impact because of who he is. Koeman, with the goal at Wembley. I also heard about Cesar, Kubala and that striker named by Serrat in his song: Basora, Cesar, Kubala, Moreno and Manchón. And I’m sure I’m forgetting important people.”

Messi went on to speak about the player who brought stability and maturity into his playing style while he was teenager.

He said “I think there are two who have had an impact on me for different reasons. Guardiola, I had him as a coach for many years and we achieved incredible things that we could never have imagined.

“And Ronaldinho. The way he received me, how he helped me. He helped me a lot in my first moments with the first team.

” I also remember Iniesta and Xavi a lot as teammates. And the three who play with me here in Miami – Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez – who are also friends. And, of course, a special mention to Tito Vilanova, who we miss.

When being asked to share what he has for the fans of Barcelona FC, Messi noted that he would like to see them again soon.

He said “My message to Barça fans? I miss you a lot. I hope we can meet again soon. I hope you feel proud of being part of the best club in the world.”

Yesterday, Messi’s side Inter Miami learned about their opponents in the upcoming World Club Cup that will be held in USA.

Inter Miami is placed on Group A with clubs such as Portuguese giants FC Porto, Egyptian giants Al Ahly FC as well as Brazilian side SE PALMEIRAS.
