Former Orlando Pirates player says Kaizer Chiefs must make adjustment or else they might end up being like Swallows

Kaizer Chiefs this season are marking eleven years without winning single major trophy and that has been a problem for clubs legend.

The last time amakhosi lifted major trophy was back in 2013/14 season under former coach Stuart Baxter.

Now one of the former Orlando Pirates player Pio Nogueira also shared his concern regarding the situation and warned management to do something about it.

He said “I don’t identify with this Kaizer Chiefs anymore based on the Chiefs that I played for and got to see through all the years I was in South Africa.

“The way things are happening at Chiefs makes me feel like they will end up like Moroka Swallows.

“Right now, Chiefs are down to Swallows standards on the field, and it worries me. This decay has been happening over years and needs action to put the club back on track.”

Towards his conclusion Nogueira pleaded with clubs management to bring in some legend to help current coach Nasreddine Nabi.

On his suggestion Nogueira request club to appoint Doctor Khumalo as someone who might bring changes into the clubs camp.

He said “Doctor Khumalo should be actively involved at Chiefs as the face of the club. Chiefs needs to have their former players involved around the club more than they are doing now.

“I find it rather strange that the identity of Chiefs’ success is being washed down the drain instead of being kept around the club to inspire this generation.”

Kaizer Chiefs have full week to prepare themselves as their next fixture will be up against Mamelodi Sundowns on 1st March.
