Former Real Madrid midfielder shared how he overcome the challenges

Ex Real Madrid midfielder shared how his journey at the went on. Jese Rodriguez started his football career at Madrid academy.

The former midfielder emphasized that most of the players were using doping drugs in order to give 100% performance.

Rodriguez said “There were a lot of people who took a lot of sh*t to perform. That used to be not as controlled as it is now.

“I’m not criticising or judging anyone, but it was like that. What happened is that maybe it didn’t come out publicly.”

He went on to highlight the time he had at Madrid and also shared that he really enjoyed being part of the club even though injury forced him to step aside.

Rodriguez said “I spent only two years in the reserve team. I made my debut at 16, finished that season, started the next one, and we were promoted to the second division.

“I was going to be promoted, but Florentino Perez said: ‘Let him play another year in the second division because he’s almost a professional’. And the following year I was in the first team.

” The following year I was at Las Palmas and Karanka called me to tell me if I was ready to go to the preseason.

“Mourinho had just arrived and Karanka told him: ‘We have to take him’. I made my debut against Real. Cristiano came off and I came on. At that moment I wanted to give my all.”

Rodriguez went on to praise Mourinho who handed him senior debut and he revealed that later on the coach had a beef with almost half of the squad.

He said “He’s a great coach. Smart and strategic. You can tell he has a lot of street. But he clashed with some players because he had a lot of character.

“I had a couple of episodes of discussion, but as a player-coach, with no disrespect, but he was a guy who liked to get into a confrontation. He was a controversial guy, but he’s a good guy.

“I played and Bale didn’t. He cost 120 million. Ancelotti had the balls to put him on the bench and play me.

“Another coach might not have done that. Florentino really liked the fact that the youth academy players solved the games for him.

“Yes, there were long faces with Bale, but what can he tell me if he doesn’t know how to talk.”
