Four time Grand Slam champion was forcefully to quite the match

As injury happen to any sports person and one of the tennis star player sustained injury during the session.

Naomi Osaka failed to serve all set during the Australian Open where she was forced to retire injured her third-round match against Belinda Bencic.

Incident occured on Friday, where Japanese was struggling physically in the first set and even received a medical timeout while 6-5 up.

The four-time Grand Slam champion sustained an abdominal injury in Auckland before competing at Australian Open.

Against Bencic, Osaka appeared to be hampered by the same issue and it was impacting her serve but also leg positioning and movement on the court.

Osaka forced to finish third round where she lost by a set of 7-3 and after that she decided to retire/pull out of the event.

It was bit emotional moment for the Japanese with how her journey come to an end at Melbourne Park considering how she performed at Caroline Garcia and Karolina Muchova.

In the first week of the season, the 27-year-old reached the Auckland final – in which she retired after one set due to an abdominal injury.

After arriving in Melbourne, the two-time Australian Open winner shared that her MRI “was not fantastic.”

Even though she forced to play they were some discomfort from her body language and that something could possibly go wrong.

Osaka refused to share how her state of health were but revealed that scan shows that she is not well healed.

She said “Well, I’m normally a really honest person, but I probably won’t answer your question honestly (smiling).

“But, I mean, the MRI, it wasn’t fantastic but it wasn’t bad at the same time. So saying all that, I’m pretty optimistic about playing my match. I mean, for sure I’m going to play my match.

“Yeah, I’ve been practicing pretty well for the two days that I’ve been here, so… Seems to be going good.”
