France star turned down opportunity to face All Blacks

France’s Rugby player Fly-half Matthieu Jalibert refused to honor the call up to represent his nation against New-Zeland(All Blacks).

Even though he showed disrespect toward head coach Fabien Galthie, he(coach) revealed that he won’t shutdown the doors for the player in the near future.

The head coach selected his 23-man Les Bleus squad to face New Zealand on Thursday, but the playmaker’s name was missing from the teamsheet.

Thomas Ramos was selected to start at number 10 after impressing in that role in the 52-12 victory over Japan last weekend.

Galthie kept faith with Ramos and once again put him alongside Antoine Dupont at half-back, but the France boss was intending to select the Bordeaux-Begles star in the 23.

The 26-year-old refused, though, and has now returned back to his club after the head coach accepted his request to leave the group.

Fabien Galthie highlighted that if Matthieu Jalibert want to change his mind about his decision he will welcome him with open arms.

Galthie said “He will continue in the French team… if he wishes.”

Galthie went on to share the importance of having strong mentality and also pointed out that individuals strength makes collective effort.

He said “There is mental preparation and choices on the rugby part. To build a team, what matters is the determination of the moment. The individual strength that will serve the collective.

“It’s his choice, everyone is free to experience their emotions, to share them. We need determined, strong players.

“Until now, even if his career has not been linear, he has contributed to the French team and has always shown his talent by giving the best of himself.

“Everyone has the choice to make decisions. Out of the 42, we must identify the determined players who have the ability to get through the good times and the difficult times. I could talk to you about my career, if you want… but that’s not the subject.”
