Magesi Football Club were somehow looks like a team to stay in the Betway Premiership but things turned worst.
Magesi FC under Clinton Larsen managed to secure silver after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of Carling cup.
Since then Magesi failed to register a single victory in the Betway Premiership up to date. They even separated with Larsen just 6 games into 2024/25 campaign.
On the vacancy of coaching Magesi FC decided to recruit former Pirates and Highlands-Park coach Owen Da Gama.
Da Gama has already suffered a defeat and he went to the media to plea with management to sign him seasoned striker.
He said “The team needs strengthening, there’s no doubt about it. We need to bring in some players and I think the management realise that as well.

“We need to strengthen the team, we need to get soldiers now… people that are going to fight for you. We’ve got to fight out of this situation… we can’t play out of it but we have to fight out of it.
“We need another experienced striker upfront… just to take the pressure off Makhubu because there’s too much pressure on the boy.
“I think Gift [Motupa] is getting there but he’s not yet there… you can understand how long Gift has been out of the game and he’s a quality player.
“If we can get Gift right and get [Kgaogelo] Sekgota right, we can get there.”
Owen Da Gama together with his troops have another tough test awaiting them as they will be welcoming Mamelodi Sundowns on 22nd January at Peter Mokoba Stadium and kickoff set at 19:30.
According to the other media publication Magesi FC have invited the former Orlando Pirates midfielder Ntsako Makhubela to assis him.
