Clinton Larsen started with Magesi FC while it was still participating in Motsepe Foundation League until they secure status into Elite league(PSL).
Just less than 6 months into his tenure Larsen has already managed to hand the newbies their trophy into Elite League (PSL).
Before Magesi gig, Larsen took the reins at SAFA KZN side Summerfield Dynamos in July 2021, a stint that lasted until January 2023 in the ABC Motsepe League.
The time he was coaching Summerfield Dynamos, Larsen led the team to a remarkable achievement: qualifying for the 2022 Nedbank Cup after winning the provincial Nedbank Cup qualification round.
Larsen highlighted that he learned alot from his journey more especially when he was still leading Summerfield Dynamos.
He said “Well, going down to the ABC Motsepe League was a breath of fresh air for me, especially at Summerfield Dynamos.
“You know, I was in such a professional environment. It was an amazing experience because I didn’t expect an ABC Motsepe League team to be run so professionally.
“So, it was a breath of fresh air and one of the best experiences of my coaching career. For me, nothing else is different between coaching in the PSL and the ABC Motsepe League.”
During his statement conclusion Larsen emphasized that there is no difference between coaching a club but what is needed is passion.
He said “For example, there is a training field, there is an opponent, there is a coach, and there are players.
“So, nothing is different; it’s just the level of competition that is different, but it was one of the best footballing experiences of my life.”
Magesi FC together with his troops will be hoping to transform their Carling cup form into Betway Premiership when they will be up against Chippa United in 30th November( Saturday,Betway Premiership, Kickoff: 20:00).
