CAF Champions League is set to resume later on tonight as the last eight teams will be hoping to secure their spot into the Semi-Finals.
Ahead of Second leg, away clubs/teams have slide advantage after claiming victory in their previous encounter (first leg).
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende encouraged his teammate to remain focused against Esparence De Tunis.
Allende said “We must maintain that focus [from the first leg]. They are playing at home, they have to win.
“That will open up the game,” the Chilean midfielder, whose influence for Downs in the middle of the park is often underappreciated.
“It’s going to be exciting because we are Sundowns and we are here [in Tunisia] to win.”
Allende said “We know set-plays will be key. We’ve put in a lot of work on that, and it paid off in the first leg. When Esperance played in Pretoria, they sat back and waited.
“We just have to be patient, move the ball quicker and take our chances.”
Sundowns will progress if they avoid defeat in Radès, just outside Tunisian capital Tunis. Brazilians playmaker Marcelo Allende, though, has stressed the importance of a measured, sensible attack away, rather than playing for a draw.
Allende noted that the mood in the camp is on the high as they are aiming to progress into the next stage of the competition.”
