Manchester City and Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne highlighted that he doesn’t panic over the contract negotiation.
De Bruyne has recently got limited time inside of the pitch as he is suffering from hamstring injury that keeps on occurring.
The 33 year-old opened up on what his future may look like beyond this campaign with it still unknown whether he will extend his stay with Pep Guardiola’s side.
He said “Honestly, I don’t know, Obviously when I started the season I knew things would happen and talks would happen. I had a conversation already in the summer but then obviously I had the injury.
“So really I was not in the right frame of mind to speak about that. I really want to be good and be back where I need to be on the pitch and be myself again, and then there’s no rush also.
“I don’t feel uncomfortable in my situation. I just want to play football and I’m not really worried.
“I’ve put basically everything to the side. I was hoping to be out for a couple of days and it ended up being eight or nine weeks.”
Pep Guardiola was asked about the situation involving Kevin De Bruyne, either the Belgian will stay or he will leave.
Guardiola said “Kevin, I’m pretty sure, will be honest. He will want to finish here after this season or the next one, or the next one, at his best.
“I don’t think he will be here when he believes he doesn’t feel he can be the Kevin that can produce and help the team like he has done in the last decade.”
Yesterday Manchester City thrown away their 3-0 lead as they ended up playing to 3 all draw against Feyenoord FC during UEFA Champions League.
Soo far Pep Guardiola together with his troops played 6 matches without registering a victory as they lost 5 games and drew once.
The Citizens of Manchester will be hoping to repair their faithful with a victory when they will be facing Liverpool on Sunday (01 December 2024), EPL.
