As we don’t know when we will leave this world, one of football player Nour Metwally Yakan in Egypt almost lost his life during a game.
Luckly for him there match official Ziad Moamen Mahmoud was alert about the situation as he acted fast.
Mr Mahmoud was saved by man in the middle after being exposed to swallowing his tongue during a match between two teams from Beni Suef Governorate, southwest of Cairo.
The incident took place at Popular Square Stadium on Thursday evening, after defender had a collision with opponent.
It occurred around 35th minute of the second half, as referee noticed that Nour Metwally Yakan, a defender of the Ibshway team, was lying down unconscious after the incident.
Immediately, the referee of the match, Ziad Moamen Mahmoud, stopped the match, and ran towards the player and immediately opened his mouth until ambulance personnel arrived and rescued the player.
His treatment was completed outside the field and the referee resumed the match.
The president of the Ibshway club said “The team player was subjected to strong interference from one of the Al-Saha team players, causing him to swallow his tongue, causing him to immediately lose consciousness and fall on the field. The match referee immediately intervened and saved the player.”
