Minister of Electricity confirmed that the crisis of load shedding will take time to be resolved

As the country experience the shortage of Electricity, the Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa announced that it will take time to find solution to this crisis.

minister acknowledged the frustration of citizens and businesses but assured the public that the government was working tirelessly to resolve the crisis.

Ramokgopa said “I will be lying to our people if I say load shedding will end tomorrow, But the end of load shedding is within touching distance.”

The announcement comes as South Africa continues to struggle with rolling blackouts, which have disrupted economic activities and daily life for millions.

The power cuts, which have persisted for over a decade, are largely due to aging infrastructure, corruption, and mismanagement at Eskom, the state-owned power utility.

While the minister did not provide a definitive timeline for when load shedding will completely end, he outlined key interventions aimed at addressing the crisis.

These include increasing maintenance efforts on Eskom’s power stations, securing additional energy supply from private and renewable energy producers, and expediting new power generation projects.

Many South Africans remain skeptical, as previous government promises to end load shedding have fallen short.

Business leaders and opposition parties have also called for more transparency and accountability in the energy sector.

Ramokgopa went on to ensure the citizens that the country is moving on the right direction to ensure they stabilize this crisis.

He said “We are not where we want to be yet, but I assure you, we are getting there.”
