Newcastle United coach revealed that history won’t help them to get maximum points

The Magpies coach Eddie Howe revealed that his side won’t hold on to the record if they really want maximum points.

Howe’s side have fantastic record against Aston Villa FC as they last lost their home fixture back in 2005.

However Howe warned his troops that they must be well prepared to take on Aston Villa and stop thinking about the record as it might be their down fall.

He said “Previous games don’t tell you anything about what is going to happen in the future. We really enjoyed playing at home in the last few games.

“Our home performances in general have been very good, so more of the same would be very welcome.

“This will be a really good challenge for us. I think they have good depth in their squad, they have some really good players. Their style is very difficult to play against, they’re very well coached, very well drilled.”

Howe went on to highlight that everyone already thinks about the holidays and they are looking forward to spending their holidays with their loved ones.

He promised to allow players to leave as early as possible and they will treat upcoming fixture as the boxing match.

He said “We will get them in training but won’t keep them for any longer than they need to be in and then they can enjoy Christmas like everybody else.”
