Former Nigerian international midfielder Jay Jay Okocha suggested that his nation does not have great leadership in terms of football.
Okocha thinks trophy drought might continue suggested that in order for Nigeria to win trophies they must reform their structure.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria last lifted a trophy in 2013 when they defeated Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final to clinch the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in South Africa.
Nigeria during the previous AFCON in Ivory Coast they finished the competition as the run-up.
During the interview former Super Eagles captain highlighted that NFF must appoint someone who has football knowledge.
Okocha said “The Super Eagles may not win any trophy until the current NFF officials are dissolved or reformed.

“Appoint new officials who know more about football, who have interest in football, who love football, whose lifestyles represent football.”
The former captain went on to question the criteria that is being used by Federation when it comes to appoint officials.
Okocha said “You can’t appoint politicians to manage football. They will turn it to politics, and that’s what is happening today.
“We have the best players in the world, yet we have no trophy to lay our hands on, not because of the players, absolutely not.”
As far as he wants the success for his nation, Okocha doesn’t understand why Federation change the coaches more often and he also believes that it might affect clubs progress.
He said “When you change a coach, you have changed a dream, a vision and a mission. In short, you have changed a generation.”

The Super Eagles have not won a major international trophy since their triumph at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations under the late Stephen Keshi.
Even though Super Eagles got top cream of talented players playing in top leagues across the world, the team has struggled to conquer Africa and mostly it has caused by administrative challenges.
