Polokwane City FC had staller campaign in their first round of the 2024/2025 campaign as they are currently on third place.
Even though they(Rise and Shine) have played more games compare to the top four teams this season they have improved and proved that they are not push overs.
They showed their Resilient Quality when they defeat Mamelodi Sundowns and later on defeated Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership.
Yesterday Polokwane City managed to grab a point in Limpopo derby against Sekhukhune United at Old Peter Mokoba Stadium.
Though both side didn’t enjoy their style of play due to wet pitch, both side produced a moment of brilliance.
After the match Phuti Mohafe (Polokwane City coach) addressed the rumors that are circulating all over internet regarding his two regular players.
According to numerous articles Big three teams have shown interest in Bafana Bafana winger Appollis and two soweto side have shown interest in Thabang Matuludi.
Mohafe said “You know, with this issue of our players being linked with other people, let it be their own agenda.
He went on to emphasize that people should not believe everything that is written by media publication as some(publication) are pushing their own agenda.
Mohafe said “I think we shouldn’t be engaging with it anymore because it’s just rumors that are flying around, and I’d rather not comment further about this. But as you saw, the players are here and playing, so that tells you something else.
“Let the headlines fly, but I don’t have to talk to them [the players about the rumors]. These players know what is at stake for them.”
It is not the first time such rumors appears, as in June transfer window Appollis was linked with a move to naturena and Esperance de Tunisia.
Both players have contributed immensely and added some great value within the team’s squad since their promotion to the elite league/top flight.
Despite those rumors, the pair appeared applied themselves and were determined to deliver solid performance that underscored their importance to Mohafe’s plans.
As the transfer window gathers pace, it remains to be seen whether Pirates or any other suitors will make a formal bid for the talented pair.
