It was sad moment for German’s side as they will no longer taking part in this year’s UEFA Champions League.
RB Leipzig is eliminated early on matchday 6 of the Champions League. After the defeat against Aston Villa, coach Marco Rose created a touching scene despite the frustration.
German’s side didn’t have good campaign during UEFA Champions League as they have lost Six out of Six fixtures.
On their yesterday’s defeat Leipzig showed that they are not push overs as they lost the match by 3-2 up against Aston Villa.
Marco Rose would have had every reason to be in a bad mood after the game. But the RB coach cheered up the linesman Alessandro Giallatini instead. The 49-year-old Italian burst into tears after the final whistle. What had happened?
He said “I asked him what was going on. He said that he had played his last game today, he is 49 years old. We just brought him a jersey.”
RB Leipzig coach Rose went on to highlight that Giallatini was very emotional. He even went on to emphasize that he offered peace of advice.
He said “I congratulated him and told him that he now has a little more time and should use it profitably so that he can take care of his family.”
Giallatini is regarded as legend, as he started his careerback in 2013. He worked as an assistant at major tournaments, such as the 2020 European Championships and the 2022 World Cup.
One might say RB Leipzig elimination from UEFA Champions League is a blessing in disgust as they will now turn their attention into Bundesliga.
Rose mentioned that his side will have to prepare proper as they have another tough fixture awaiting them as they are going to face Frankfurt FC.
He said “We have to pick ourselves up and have another difficult task ahead of us on Sunday against Frankfurt.”
