After going through tough stage in the color of Real Madrid, it seems like the former PSG star has settled well.
The French superstar Kylian Mbappe has transformed into a different player at Madrid as he managed to score goals at his current club.
It was no different even yesterday as Mbappe continued to wreck havoc against Salzburg FC in their 5-1 victory.
As things stand Madrid are amongst other clubs that are going to participate for the last 8 spot to make 16 teams that are going to take place in the new format UEFA Champions League.
According to the new rules set by UEFA regarding the new format is that, competition will have 32 teams then from 1-8 they secure positions into the last 16 then from positions 9-24 will have to challenge one another to secure their spot into the next stage.
After their victory yesterday, Rodrygo was left speechless about the performance of Kylian Mbappe.
Rodrygo said ‘It’s a very important day for us, winning in the Champions League gives us a lot of confidence. I’m very happy to score again, to help my team on a very special night.
“I will always defend the coach, it’s clear that sometimes we go through difficult moments that we don’t want to go through, we work hard every day to always be well but it’s difficult.
“This season we are failing in games we can’t fail in, but this victory gives us a lot of confidence for the big challenges we have.”
After being snubbed for Man of the match Rodrygo revealed that he is happy that one of his teammate was chosen as the player of the match.
He said ‘It’s OK, we play for the team and it doesn’t matter who gets the trophy. I’m happy for him (Vini), he’s scored two goals and he’s always good. The most important thing is to continue like this, winning and scoring goals.
“It’s very easy to play with Jude, he makes everything easier with the moves he makes, the balls he gives you. The assist was very nice. I’m delighted to play with him.”
Rodrygo went on to emphasize that himself together with his teammate will do anything in their power to see the French man to be top goalscorer in all competitions.
He said “If he has to be the star? Yes. He is the centre forward, the one who is closer to the goal so it is easier for him to score goals. We are going to help him because of the quality he has and he will help us a lot too.”
Rodrygo together with his teammate will have another chance to fulfill their promises when they will be away to take on Valladolid FC on Saturday (25th January) for La Liga and kickoff set at 22:00.
