SANDF held the ceremony of the dead soldiers/ moment of silent at camp

South African National Defence Force celebrate and honor those who shared/sacrificed their lives in the past every 11 November every year.

Like today the slogan or sign to show respect to those who donned the uniform was as follows: “We will remember them, we will remember them.”

According to SANDF statement: These solemn words echoed throughout the 2025 Remembrance Parade, held at the South African Army Combat Training Centre during Exercise VUKUHLOME IV on 11 November, a day known as Poppy Day in the Commonwealth nations.

At the 11th hour of the 11th day of November, military personnel, veterans, and civilians alike paused for a moment of silence.

For the South African National Defence Force, this day is not merely a date on the calendar, but a sacred remembrance of brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate sacrifice and of all who have worn the national badge with honour, courage, and pride. We will remember them.

We will engrave their names not only on the walls of remembrance, but also within the living pages of our nation’s story, reminding us of where we come from and inspiring where we are going.

The main functionary of the parade was Major General V.Z. Ngcobo, Exercise VUKUHLOME IV Division Commander, who, as part of the tribute, laid a wreath at the memorial in honour of the fallen soldiers.

He was followed by the Division Chaplain, Chaplain Tau, who laid a wreath, and then by the Sergeant Major of the South African Army, Senior Chief Warrant Officer M.P. Tladi, who also laid a wreath.

Gunner N.M. Phokela then placed a flower, followed by Mr. S. Ntwagae, who laid a flower on behalf of all Defence Civilians.
