How can Eskom pre-paid customers check whether their meter is on KRN1 or KRN2?
To check if your meter has been recoded to KRN2, enter the code 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416 on your meter. If the display shows a “1,” your meter still needs to be recoded.
If it shows a “2,” your meter has already been successfully recoded. It is crucial for all prepaid customers to recode their meters by 24 November 2024 to avoid disruptions in service. Please do not wait for 24 November but try to do it before that date, in case you encounter challenges.
NB: If the date set by Eskom pass while you didn’t register your meter box, you might be unable to have electricity.
Citizens/ Customers are urged to vist Eskom branches to register their meter box as soon as possible.
