South African Presidency affirmed that they will negotiate with U.S

Things look bad for South Africa since the issue of land and they(South Africa) were cut from being amongst the country to receive medical aid.

After being cutted from receiving the medical aid the U.S president increased the terrif towards South Africa.

According to iAfrica: On Wednesday, President Trump announced extensive global tariffs, asserting they were in retaliation for what he termed unfair trade practices.

South Africa is among the nations affected, facing a 30% tariff on its exports to the United States. Despite this development, the South African government remains committed to fostering a mutually beneficial trade relationship with Washington.

Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya emphasized the urgency of negotiating a new bilateral trade agreement with the U.S. to ensure long-term trade stability.

He said “Unilaterally imposed and punitive tariffs are a concern and serve as a barrier to trade and shared prosperity.

“The tariffs affirm the urgency to negotiate a new bilateral and mutually beneficial trade agreement with the U.S., as an essential step to secure long-term trade certainty.”

Reports suggested that: The South African government is actively seeking diplomatic engagements with U.S. officials to address the impact of these tariffs and explore potential avenues for resolution.

The outcome of these discussions will be pivotal in determining the future trajectory of trade relations between the two nations.
