Spain managed to conclude the campaign on a high noted after collecting full three points against Switzerland during UEFA Nations League.
Spain defeated Swiss by 3-2 goals and the head coach of Spain Luis de la Fuente was left impressed by display shown by Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado.
de la Fuente said “great news” because he is a player “who has been with us for a game and a half, and plays like a veteran, with confidence and security, who transmits football and control of the situation; he had a match to remember. A surprise package.”
de la Fuente went on to compare his current squad and his philosophy with the style of play that was being used by Luis Enrique.
He said “Before it was also a great team, but now we win and giver our all. We are used to competing for the best, without thinking about the past.
“We have a magnificent present and a wonderful future thanks to the players we have in Spain. The best in the world.”
Since de la Fuente took over the reigns from Enrique, he managed to guide Spain to collect their first trophy after 14 years.
