As all African nations yesterday were paired into their groups ahead of AFCON 2025 that will be held in Morocco starting late this year.

All Association members were present during live draw where 24 teams filled up all spaces from Group A up to Group F.

The former Ghana player and coach Kwesi Appiah, currently head coach of Sudan expressed his joy.

Sudan make their way back again into African Competition after missing the edition that was held in Ivory Coast last year.

Kwesi Appiah’s side back in 2021 were placed in Group F with other nations such as Ghana and Niger were they managed to finish above those two nations.

In this year’s edition Appiah’s side is placed on Group E with other nations such as 2019 champions Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea.

This marks Appiah’s second stint at the tournament as a head coach, having previously led Ghana to the round of 16 in 2019. Confident and unfazed, Appiah expressed his determination to compete fiercely in Morocco.

After knowing his opponents Appiah’s revealed that this year’s edition will be more interesting and that they will not show any sign of panic.

He said “The AFCON in Morocco is going to be interesting. Sudan is in Group E, and all the teams are really good.

“If you’re participating in a competition, your aim should be to win the cup. If you’re afraid of any team, then why are you taking part in the competition in the first place?

“I believe Sudan will perform very well, and I’m hopeful that against any team we meet, we will try our best to get the victory.”

The 2025 AFCON will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, featuring 24 teams aiming for continental glory.
