Supersport United striker revealed why he prefer SA than leaving

The serbian international striker Samir Nurkovic arrived at Naturena camp when he come to South Africa.

After spending three season with amakhosi, Nurkovic was released by Chiefs after sustaining injury and pay increase.

Man nicknamed ‘Kokota Piano’ went on to join Royal AM where he had little stint then went on to join TS Galaxy where he also didn’t last long.

After his departure from the rockets, Nurkovic trained with Supersport United before he eventually land contract with Tshwane side.

Nurkovic who is yet to register single match under his belt under former Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt shared why he is still in the country.

He said “I mean, it’s an amazing country, amazing people. Since day one, I have enjoyed every single minute in this country, and South Africa itself gave me a lot.

“Also, to mention my lady from South Africa, and I’m comfortable here. And I was in talks also with this amazing club SuperSport and when you’re seeing it from the players’ perspective that if you’re in a comfortable place where everybody knows you like, it’s always better for you than to go somewhere else where you’re not familiar with the environment. So, that’s it.”

When being asked if we might see the same goal poarch he was when he join Amakhosi, Nurkovic emphasized that if he manage to stay away from injury he will score more goals.

He said “Consistency, stay injury-free, work hard and be in a good environment, and I think that I’m in the perfect environment.

“If I put hard work in it and be consistent. Good things take time sometimes, so I just need to work hard to get where I was before.”

When he conclude the Serbian striker highlighted that he is really feeling welcomed by his teammate.

Nurkovic said “I’m now in a very accommodating environment, a very good club, one of the top three clubs in the country.

“They have won trophies. I’m really happy to be part of this club, and like I said, it’s all about consistently and hard work.”

Nurkovic will be hoping to get game time tonight when his side will be taking on Mamelodi Sundowns for Betway Premiership and kickoff set at 19:30.
