LIMPOPO: Nine undocumented foreign nationals, travelling in a bus were arrested by police members attached to the Polokwane International Airport along the R101, north of the central business district. Packs of sorghum beer found in the trailer were also confiscated . The liquor was valued at R175 800, and furthermore 31-year-old driver who is also a foreign national was also arrested.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo he explained that, preliminary police investigations revealed that the liquor as well as the undocumented foreign nationals, were being transported to Johannesburg. He also addressed that four suspects were arrested in separate operation in Tzaneen. “Four foreign nationals, aged between 26 and 42, were this morning arrested by members of the provincial team and 72 boxes of illicit cigarettes valued at R252 000 and three bakkie confiscated.
In total, 815 people were arrested in Limpopo last week for contravening lockdown regulations. The provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe has lauded the members of the provincial police for their hard work and determination to make Limpopo a safe and secure place.
