Accodring to SAPS statement: Two suspects are expected to appear in the Douglas Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 17 November 2025, on charges of possession of suspected stolen meat.
The two suspects, between the age of 34 and 38, were busted in possession of meat for which they could not provide a valid explanation.
On Saturday, 15 November 2025, at approximately 16:45, police members were conducting patrols in Long Street, Campbell, when they noticed two males carrying two bags.
When questioned about the contents of the bags, the suspects failed to give a satisfactory response.
The members proceeded to search the bags.During the search, police allegedly discovered fresh meat inside one of the bags and requested proof of purchase.
During the questions, the two man were unable to show if they are the owners of the livestocks that are being killed (provide any documentation or clear answers).
Police are still busy with investigation, and the suspects cooperated with SAPS and took them to camp where they found other parts of lost livestock such as: Head, Intestines, Hooves and Skin of a recently slaughtered sheep.
Two of the suspicious people(suspects) were arrested charged for possession of suspected stolen meat.
