Mpumalanga spaza shops[small business] receive boost from government

SEDFA continued its nationwide Spaza Shop Support Fund outreach programme in Mpumalanga this week, engaging spaza shop owners in Nkangala District on 22 June 2026 and Bushbuckridge on 23 June 2026.

The outreach programme forms part of the government’s commitment to increase awareness of the fund, support compliance efforts and assist qualifying entrepreneurs to access available funding opportunities.

The Mpumalanga engagements represent the fifth and sixth outreach activations since the campaign commenced, following successful outreach visits in Soweto and Mabopane in Gauteng, as well as Rustenburg and Mahikeng in North West.

Through these engagements, SEDFA assists business owners with application support, compliance requirements, programme updates and application status enquiries.

The nationwide outreach campaign was announced as part of the government’s intensified effort to encourage more qualifying spaza shop owners to participate in the fund.

The programme will continue rolling out across the country, with the Western Cape scheduled to host the next outreach activities during the first week of July.
