Major General Mathonsi shared his concerns regarding the safety of the people inside of the community

According to SAPS statement: The day’s programme began on a spiritual note with Warrant Officer (Chaplain) JD Phoku opening the proceedings with scripture reading and prayer.

Drawing strength from the Word, she reminded those gathered, “In this life where we are not sure who is going to cover us, God this afternoon is saying, I will never give you the burden that you cannot handle.”

The programme director then invited the Head for Social Crime Prevention, Major General TN Mathonsi, to outline the purpose of the event.

Major General Mathonsi highlighted the vision for safer communities and self-care where each and every individual can feel safe.

Mathonsi said “We all want to live in a place that is crime-free, where mothers, women, and children can walk about without fear.

“Our vision for 2030 is a community free from crime. It is crucial that you are here, because your safety matters…..

“Today is about finding where we as an organisation can fix ourselves so we can serve you correctly……

“This gathering is to encourage your participation, so you can raise your challenges and together we can find solutions……

“We need one voice, working together.”
