In response to ongoing community concerns regarding the quality and delays in the completion of the Road D3179 (Medingen to Malematsa) preventative maintenance projects,
RAL/T1029 (Phase 1) and RAL/T1029A (Phase 2), the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Mr Ernest Rachoene, assigned Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL) to conduct a joint site inspection.
This was a resolution taken during the #stakeholdertuesday engagement session held on Tuesday, 16 September 2025.
Leading the delegation is RAL’s Acting CEO, Mr Makhitha Chesane, accompanied by officials from RAL and the Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure.
The visit also includes the attendance of the MMC of Greater Letaba Municipality, Mr Rito Valoyi, Local Councillors and the presence of representatives from various Traditional Authorities within the affected community.
This activation underscores MEC Rachoene’s unwavering commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring accountability in public infrastructure projects.
It further reaffirms his serious consideration of community and stakeholder concerns, and his intention to see that projects are completed to the highest standards, within reasonable timeframes.
This display reinforces the importance of collaboration between government, traditional leadership, and local representatives in advancing infrastructure development.
